My First Post

Hey Everyone!

Allow me to introduce myself...I'm a 36 year old wife and mom. I have a wonderful 17 year old son and a great husband! I'm a critical care nurse currently working as a clinical education specialist focusing on mechanical ventilation and renal replacement therapy. I teach CPR and advanced life support, I'm a military officer, and an active member of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). I am proof positive that it IS POSSIBLE for a teenage Mom to have a child out-of-wedlock and still become someone with a purpose in life. I was a single Mom until my son was 12. I had no support financially or otherwise from my son's Dad. In short, he was the truest form of a "deadbeat Dad". I worked very hard to get to where I am today, but I couldn't have done it without the love and support of my parents, my sisters, and the rest of my extended family. What I am hoping to achieve with this blog is to discuss topics that are of interest to me and hear what the people have to say. I also encourage suggestions for topics. I will try to remain as neutral as possible, but it may be hard to do since I am a self-described conservative who cherishes my freedoms, especially the 2nd Amendment. So, I look forward to hearing from all of you!
